Founding of SERTA

Founding of SERTA (Société de Conception et de Réalisation de Techniques Appliquées), a family-owned company specializing in the manufacture of hydraulic cylinders, by Jacques Audureau.

1977

Engineering structuring

The establishment of the design office allowed SERTA to reaffirm its role as a designer of hydraulic cylinders. Beyond manufacturing, the company is now able to conceive and offer tailor-made solutions, perfectly suited to its customers’ needs.

2003

First international expansion

To strengthen its international presence, SERTA acquired Pneumatika, a hydraulic cylinder manufacturer based in Bulgaria, and established Pneumatika SERTA in 2003.

2011

Global commercial deployment

The opening of sales offices in Shanghai and Chicago marked SERTA’s entry into a phase of accelerated industrial performance, supported by the implementation of SMED, 5S, lean manufacturing, and related practices.

2015

Capital evolution

The acquisition of SERTA by new investors allows us to increase our international presence and meet growing demand for hydraulic cylinders. MAT Capital remains our main shareholder, alongside Stags, Stephens, Labruyère, Océans Participation, Unexo, and Rewi.

The establishment of a new production facility in China.

Increase in industrial capacity

A significant increase in production capacity at SERTA’s sites in France and Bulgaria.

SERTA has established a unit in France dedicated to prototypes and spare parts.

A new automated production line in Bulgaria, with an investment of €5 million, adding 150,000 cylinders per year.
